Revivalution Podcast
As I watch our world I see a great need for a change in it’s current direction. A needed revolution so to speak to change its course but not one that involves war and bloodshed but one brought about by the love of an awesome Father. A God who loves us. A revolution brought about through revival on a weary world. We need a Revivalution.

Are You God’s Favorite?
Continuing through the book of Romans we are now in Chapter 3. When you read through this Chapter Paul takes quite some time to make and rectify the difference between being a Jew and a Gentile. In so doing he framed up our world today in a beautiful way. There was a huge gulf between these two groups, the Gentiles were angry at the Jewish nation because they had the audacity to say that they were God’s chosen people, and better than everyone else. And the Jews didn’t care for the Gentile nations because they were pagan and ungodly.
So where is the truth in all of this? To be honest both sides had their truth, and it really was truth. Like it or not, and because of the faith of one man, and I’m talking about one of God’s favorites, God took all of his descendants and they became God’s chosen people. So the way that the Gentiles looked at the Jewish nation, made the Jews boasting snobs. Then for the most part the Gentiles were a polytheistic people, who created and served idols, even to the point of sacrificing their own children at times. Here is the thing, God loves us all, and because of that He made a way where there was no way, way to bring the Jew and Gentile to the same place with Him, and that was Jesus. He loves us all equally. So that should have fixed it all but it hasn’t.

When I was young I would get up early on Sunday mornings and get ready for church. This was back in those days when there were only 4 TV channels on that huge square box in your living room, excuse me 5 channels, if you considered PBS a channel. Anyway... On Sunday mornings there was only one show that I was interested in watching, the name of it, “Lost In Space”. It was a show about a family that one day hopped on a spaceship on Earth and left on a mission, and yes, you guessed it, they got lost in space. So the entire show is about them trying to get home. It was an awesome show for my 10 or 11-year-old mind and I’m sure I thought that the production was so awesome, and the stories... well they were captivating. But there was always one thing about this show that got me so frustrated. You see this family was sent with a robot that was programmed to assist and protect them on their journey. This robot had the ability to sense danger and warn the family of impending doom or dangerous situations. What I found so frustrating is that many times the robot would cry out, “Danger, Danger, Will Robinson.” If the family didn’t immediately sense danger after the warning they would look at the robot and think that he was malfunctioning, and even power him down because of it. And let me say this, that robot, he never malfunctioned, and they were always in danger. It seemed to me that after the first episode, they would have learned that the robot didn’t malfunction, and yet after the 400th episode, they still wouldn’t trust his warnings.

I started reading the book of Romans today, and about half way through the first chapter my heart was revealed. How much love I lack and how unlike Him I truly am became so evident. So in a lot of ways what I bring as a message today will be incredibly difficult yet simple in the love of Jesus Christ. Why is it so difficult?... It’s because I understand that the truth revealed in the book of Romans deals head on with the wickedness of mankind. It is a practically a yearbook of the names and faces of the evil of our time. I also understand that dealing with that head on will make me an enemy of this world. People will most likely look at me and call me a Neanderthal of intelligence, and a hater of man kind. A threat that will get you cancelled in this world.

Several years ago I came to a hard truth. I realized that if I had walked the earth during the time that Jesus walked the earth, I most likely would have been a Pharisee. You see I had grown up in church. Fell in love with church and its people, and I’ve desired to have a personal relationship with Jesus all my life. And... He has been very good to me, molded my life, blessed me with an incredible godly heritage as well as a loving wife and precious children. So how in the world could I have been a Pharisee? Because I know me. It honestly would take a book for me to explain all of the reasons, but suffice it to say, “I know myself.” You’ll have to hold on to the end to find out what changed and how I now know that I would know Him as the I AM that He was and is still today.

Today I got caught up in the story of Paul in prison and instead of reading one chapter, I read three. Acts 24-26. It’s an awesome section of scripture and it focuses on Paul’s prison life in Rome. Not only that but his actual trials, the charges against him, and his defense against those charges.
